yeah those tube retainers are pretty sweet! they should be standard issue.

I notice that the E cap for B5 which is mounted on the preamp side wall is 100uF 100v.

Isn't that a bit strange?

Most have a 22uF 450v cap there?

Tom,
I think you are turned around a bit....
That is the Bias supply cap over near the power supply.
I don't see a Power supply cap mounted near V1, as both sections of the cap can are being used for the B+4 and B+5 filtering.

Oh gawd,

Sometimes I should just not post a question.

In my defense I downloaded all those pictures and though the 100uF cap was on the preamp end for the V5 voltage.the

To prove I am humble I will leave this post here.................. :twisted:

Nice pics, looks just like one I worked on a while ago. Almost like a twin brother of that amp. Nice!!! This one sounds like a low plate classic to me.
