Thank you for the pics.
What do the values on the cap can mean. Shows half value as well? As in 20-40, 15-30, 10-20 and 10-20.

Thanks,
Aaron

The cap labeling means the first number is what you are replacing. The thinking is, increasing the value is an upgrade. Not necessarily the case these days.Although HD liked really stiff filtering. Here's some more pics.He signed the tubes and wrote values on some resistors.

Really cool pictures! An interesting thing to note here is the presence of 125P7D, and 022871 transformers powering a 100W… I haven’t read anywhere or seen anyone really discussing the obvious mismatch that happens with ODS heads. I have seen 022871 in almost every 50W ODS, despite the combos being loaded with 8ohm speakers. The chassis silk still indicates “4 ohm load”…Perhaps the cores of higher power transformers were covered with end-bells from other transformers? Though bassmans and twins have completely different core dimensions. I did notice on the extensive pictures of #124 that the OT has an unusually low primary impedance of 1.35k, corroborated by the 18.3:1 winding ratio.(pic added) http://www.amparchives.com/wp-content/ ... b3cc16.jpg Does anyone have any insight that they’re able to chime in with?
