i thaught it's time to give something back to the nice people in this forum here from which i got so much supply and informations. Thanks a lot at this point!
...so here's my personal variation of the d-lite:
It's my 5th custom built amp now, which i started by dismantling a homebrew marshall 18 watt clone, took out the transformers and other parts still useable, and put the whole stuff in a standard Hammond-Chassis. (The 18Watt Marshall-Clone was nice sounding too, but due to the amp-design, distortion only works at higher volumes. I often play at home at lower volumes, so it really wasn't the right amp for my needs. The other reason was, that i didn't have the money for completely new parts...so i sacrificed the Marshall-Clone...

The transformers, the chassis and most of the parts, i got from a german tube-specialist "www.tubetown.de", which has a good sorted web-shop and affordable prices. The PT is a Torodial 106VA transformer, the OT is a Marshall 18 Watt/1974x.
I didn't wanted to resign the EL84's from the marshall-clone, because i really love their sound, but i also like the warmth of 6V6's, so i thought it would be a nice feature to have a switchable power stage - EL84's selfbias / 6V6 fixed bias - without the need of sticking tubes inside out.
Another point was the fx-loop. I decided to integrate the standard dumbleator with a bypass-switch to took it out if i want.
So here it is: D-Lite convertible - EL84 selfbias / 6V6 fixed bias - with integrated switchable Dumbleator.
Construction is tested and the amp works fine since 3 months now. It's a very versatile amp and good sounding too!
There's definately a tonal difference between EL84's and 6V6's and it was really worth to try this thing out. Hard to say what i like more - i like both - in every mode - clean and distorted.
Schematic, layout and some pictures of the amp you find in the attachments.
Feel free to use them, if you want.
Merry Christmas to all forum members!
