The vintage prices are gonna spike, the rare just got more rare.

It takes time to wash and dry the right way, great time to buy cheap.

I know its an awful thing to say with the circumstances, but think about it.

In the long run it'll be a good thing. Don't panic....

Chet's BX212

Post by 66GTO »

I've got Chet Atkin's Ampeg BX212 that went under at Soundcheck. Disassembly, cleaning it today, about to take the trannies out. Hopefully, I'll see a lot of potting with no chance of water getting in to the tranny. This is the amp that was on a lot of RCA records. The 600v Beaver cap sleeve is still a bit wet...

Wow, what an incredible loss. All those Crook teles...the Dr. Zs...

Sure it can all be replaced (fortunately) and it was (probably?) insured but what a bummer. Good thing his Z Wreck, Liverpool and pink '68 paisley Tele probably were sleeping on the bed next to him, high and dry.

Sad for all of the other musicians too that lost irreplaceable gear...

just an FYI when using an air compressor to blow out an amplifier. make sure the compressor does not use oil or it will be spraying oil along with the compressed air.
