Labels for the amp controls
I have labels for Vol , tone etc. What I am looking for are labels for the knobs with numbering around the control. 1 thru 10 ( preferably 11 or 12 I like to build mine loud!!!) I do not know how to do this. I can print the labels on decal paper on my laser printer. Does any one have this or can do this? Thanks

One very old fashion way is this, not sure if they have the dial scales:

Re: Labels for the amp controls
if you have access to a graphic program you can create an image very easily.
Create a line "align to center".
copy it.
Go to edit and rotate 15 degree.
Place it on center.
Repeat.
If you want more lines use a smaller degree of rotation.
to make room for the label ( the area under the knob that does not have marker lines ) to make the above lines set the grid to align to the right and make the line half size. you can then create a circle in the size you desire and place it over the lines and send it to back.
I've used frontpanel express metal working auto cad to make a few face plates. created the images with a natural panel (this wont print in color, the printer thinks natural is white so only the lines print in your choice of color) the program is free to down load.

I was looking into using those dry transfer letters and it seems the company that makes them is no more.
I believe it was a family that bought the original Dakmark brand and were making them, the father passed away and they no longer make them.
They don't seem to work well if they are very old.

I don't understand "in points" what is the conversion for points to Inches?
i.e. I want to make a 2.00", 300 degree, 11 position dial.

Re: Labels for the amp controls
The conversion is 72 dots per inch.
The radius measurements account for the radial lines and not the numbers, so if you need the numbers within the two inch measurement, I've found an outside radius of 55 to be pretty good. YMMV
I hope this helps someone.

Re: Labels for the amp controls
You guys are awesome! I was looking into creating some labels and was going to ask a similar question. Just can't stay away from this forum.

The digits on your labels are not reversed, to they will be backward when transfered.
EDIT:
If you want tranfers that print in reverse, first make them as you want them to appear, then flip the image in graphics software.
