Radial Caps

Post by C Moore »

Generally speaking, all else equal (maybe they are not as equal as I am assuming.?)......Why are radial caps so much less expensive than their axial counterparts.?
Thank You

Much bigger market I would think for radials (computers), therefore lower unit costs. Also since axials tend to be used in audio, they may be designed more for that market.

they are more common in PCB building which has a far higher client base so it becomes a price war and mass production = lower cost.
