Planning a few F1 Builds. Just wondering if a 5Y4G rectifier tube and a 6K6 would get me there...? 12ax7b for V1. I have no experience with either tubes and was wondering if they will do.
I've got 6 of each... Marconi Radiotron (made in Canada) 5Y4G/6F6 G and 6K6 GT/6. Afew Philco, too. They're not expensive or rare tubes... but, the vintage factor has me pretty hyped. They where replacements/spares for my great grandaddy's radio. Also, got an old English-made R&E speaker that I'm going to try, too. I'm going to attempt these build with "only what's in the spare parts bin..."
I need to pay special attention to the 5Y4G Pin-out... I think. There's something odd going on there. Right?
