Vacuum Tube Valley - Grab 'Em

Post by rp »

Saw this mentioned on TGP and thought I'd cross-post it here as it's very worthwhile. VTV goes up on the web then vanishes for a few years, apparently it's back, IIRC they tried to make it as a buy site but here it is free again. Thanks out to the orig poster on the TGP.

Grab them if you are unfamiliar. I can't recommend enough, you'll have big fun, whatever your level from tube roller, curious tinkerer to veteran e-engineer. I used to subscribe way back when and jumped for joy when the new issue arrived (dork!) There's a FF addon called down-them-all, might exist for other browsers. Select all the pdf links, right click go (wait a bit if you got Italian internet) and now you got all 20 issues in a folder easy-peasy.

And here's a small file that lists the contents of the magazines...

EDIT... Newer attachment also contains TOC for Issues 19 and 20.

Very cool and thanks! Extra points for telling us about download them all. One by one, this would have taken about a half hour. The add-on takes it to a whole new plane! And it lets you know when it's done.

I subscribed to VTV back in the 90's and there are some very cool DIY projects in these issues.

I build the 6SN7 stereo preamp which is a simple but great sounding project.

Here's one of the former editors, John Atwood's website that has tons of HiFi and test Equipment info, plus lots of vacuum tube related reading...

Awesome! Thanx very much!

I bought a few of them when they were published but missed most of them. Hard copies seem to be unobtainium now.

Thanks for this!

By the way, if you're on a Mac, it supports multiple simultaneous downloads. Just quickly click each of the 20 links and you'll have all 20 issues in the time your ISP speed allows them to download - no app necessary.
