I noted this above, I haven't made the boards yet. I know how I will be mounting the transformers. Through eyelets and I have the drill pattern so I can drill a blank G10 board.
The two 12AX7 tube sockets I mounted on a piece of aluminum angle which will be either rivoted or bolted to the chassis bottom and the tubes lay horizontal in the chassis, Photos will be upload when I coomplete the boards layout inside the chassis.

I have used that transformer when I have 2 or more inches of clearance to work with.
In a 1 unit rack unit you don't have that room to work with so I have to go with a flat pack transformer.

Mark, I’ve done as you are thinking with the flat pack transformers. Insert eyelets from the back side of the board and solder the eight pins in. Most recently for this spring reverb project: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 14#p395014
