2210?

Post by Jered »

I picked up a marshall JCM800 100 watt 2210, not working, very cheap. Opened it up and it has been modded or messed up in a few places. It says 2210 on the back but looking at the schematic https://schematicheaven.net/marshallamp ... w_2210.pdf
it shows an IC CA3046 but there is no IC on the board. The preamp does not match with the 2210 schem. But it does match with the 4210 schematic preamp https://schematicheaven.net/marshallamp ... w_4210.pdf But the transformer numbers are the same as the 2210. So a 4210 pre and a 2210 power amp.
Has anybody seen this before? I would like to try and get this working but Im not sure what schematic to follow. Thanks for any help

The CA3046 transistor array is replacing discrete transistors in the signal switching circuit. My guess is if yours has the discrete transistors like the 4210, it's an earlier version.

Thanks Martin. Currently searching for the early 2210 schematic. No luck yet

Are all the other components that comprise that switching IC circuit there to support it?

I dont c anything missing. But all the trannys r bc184 except one that is a 2n3904 and looks to have been subbed in for an original. The 2n3904 has a different pinout. Maybe that could be the problem? I think this is the correct schem

2N3904 should work as long as the the leads are in the right holes, i.e. it is turned 180 degrees re BC184.
