looking for punch

Post by ckpop »

Hey guys does any have a lead on a punch to enlarge or the best way to enlarge the heyco grommet hole for thicker jacket AC cable. I'm using a 16AWG cord in allyn's chassis.

Thanks

Need to get the right size strain-relief for the cord size. Depends on the thickness of the insulation as much as the wire gauge.

Honestly, I ended up getting three different sizes to make sure it would fit.

First choice would be a step drill bit, for finer adjustment ream hole to size with a reamer bit. Poor mans solution, Dremel tool.

Once the hole is sized close, use a rat tail/other small flat files to get the D hole sized.
