Repurposing Trainwreck iron?
For example, I'm repackaging my 5e8-a with the wreck PT in a reverse Express chassis. Anyone else using those pieces in non-TW amps? How are you liking the results?

I haven't yet, been thinking about a rocket/bassman build....single channel bassman with rocket power section.....express tranny's
anything worth doing, is worth doing right

Some might argue that the Rockster 66 falls somewhere in that fuzzy space. Rocket pre into a cathode biased KT66 power section. I really like it.

I also enjoy my Rocket into 6L6 power section a worth while amp build. I currently have it tubes down in a Z 212 combo cabinet using G12H and 25w greenback.
Next will be the Normster Rocket Reverb I have to build that one and have been putting if off for too long.

I built a 4 6V6 amp using the Trainwreck iron and it turned out great! Copied the cowtipper front end (AB763) with a on board three knob reverb.

As long as you provide an appropriate load and voltage condition to the tubes
it really doesn't matter what or where the transformer came from.
