Re: Tube identification - Pinnacle EL34
Not really other than they look really long and skinny for an EL34 unless that is just the photo making them look that way.
In years gone by it was very common for companies to buy tubes and re-brand them with their logo.
You just have to scour the internet to see if you can find a similar plate structure and look to identify the maker.
Does it say JAN on it?
If so that is a Joint Army Navy military tube.
Looks like this Edicron

Thanks Tom...one does have a "JAN" on it. I saw that auction. From other guys I'm hearing possibly Siemans/RFT.
edit: That second site is great, in one of these I see an "8" inside, the other a "9".
At the other end, a Siemens valve will often have a one or two-digit number embossed on the glass between the pins.

Re: Tube identification - Pinnacle EL34
that would be a siemens el34. RFT,telefunken, siemens etc all used them, and they resold them to most anyone.
good el34's but they dont really like high plate voltage.

Re: Tube identification - Pinnacle EL34
If that's a dimple in the top and not a reflection then they're RFTs (often referred to as Siemens). The plate construction looks right.
Great tubes.

I have found the Tube Monger site helpful in identifying tubes. www.tubemonger.com , go to the tube library link on the front page.

Typical RFT-sourced OEM tube. Made by VEB Röhrenwerk Mühlhausen in the DDR, rebranded by many manufacturers - Telefunken, Siemens, etc. - and distributors. Can anybody identify what these are...besides "foreign".
A very good version of the EL34 if you don't cook them too much. Were standard fare in KF's Express amps.
