PT Current Specs

Post by mauiboy81 »

Hi guys, I have a power transformer that is rated 330-0-330 @100mA that also has taps for 300-0-300 for which there is no current rating. Will the lower voltage taps have the same current rating or will it be lower... or higher? Thanks for your help.

If the 300-0-300 is tapped from the 330-0-330 winding, then the current rating will be the same.

However if the 300-0-300 winding is completely separate, the current rating could possibly be different.

One way to confirm whether the windings are separate or not, is to try to measure the (DC) resistance between them with your R-meter. (No reading = separate winding)
