Would it make sense to build a high voltage bread with solderless connection for quick tweeking/brainstorming?

You could use octal relay socket/bases, european screw down terminal strips, pre-mounted pots, etc.

I think the main problem with bread boarding tube amps would be the lead dress.

We used to use those white plastic bread boards with all the holes that you could bread board solid state components on and use short little jumper wires to connect components but with a tube amp, because of the high voltages used it would seem that creating a circuit in the same manner would pose problems of interactive leads and would not be a very noise free system for testing circuits.

AES for example sell those tube socketed pcb's that you can wire up to other boards.

Or maybe make a circuit board using either spring loaded terminals (hard to find anymore) or Fahnestock clips for various caps and resistors and then have flying leads from that to a socket board with various 9 pin and 8 pin sockets.

that gregory I was in used old tag with solderless eyelets, looked like a cone
with slits, they were soldered after.
