I have never seen the inside of a Fender solid-state amp (like the Princeton Chorus, etc.). I was wondering if one of these would be a good platform for a ground-up rebuild as a tube amp (yeah, an ODS...). Is the chassis sturdy enough to support the xfmrs, etc?
Just curious. They are so cheap, and it would be a great quick start to a chassis w/ cabinet (and maybe even a speaker worth keeping) if they're worthy.

Fender SS amp a good platform?
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

I hear ya...should be a great head start on a cab and chassis. Bob-i has done a few builds using old SS donor chassis. In particular, he built an ODS into a Crate that sounds awesome in clips.
I keep hoping my son's Frontman 25R will bite the dust so I can "fix" it.
