Your top ten tube amp picks.

Post by marcoloco961 »

If you had to choose your top ten favorite tube amps over the last 50 - 60 years, which ten would be a must have for your collection?

Maybe you already have them.

Which circuit designs are the most used and desired?

And which versions do you personally prefer (If we are talking Bassman, Deluxe, etc.)

I am curious to how much the opinions will vary.

Only ten?

J/K

I would have to have a few Fender tweeds, Bassman, Twin, Deluxe.

A few blackface Fenders such as a Deluxe Reverb, Super Reverb, Twin Reverb.

A few Dumbles, a first generation ODS, third gen ODS and the last generation of which I built a clone.

A Soldano SLO.

A few odd amps like the Supro model 24.
Valco's

A mid to late 60's Marshall Super Lead.

And of course the vintage Fenders and Gibsons to go along with the amps. :D
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!

Thanks all, keep them coming. I thought I would get quite a few of the Fender designs mentioned, along with the Marshall plexi's, etc.

+1 on the VHT, those are sweet sounding amps. +1 on the SLO100 also.

I would imagine most of the members wives long for the day that there is less than 10 amps in the house.

Although I think mine is getting used to the bassman cabinet/coffee table. LOL
