6K6GT Tube

Post by rawnster »

I'm looking to build an outboard reverb unit and am looking for a decent 6K6GT tube. Anyone selling any, or know where I can look?

Thanks!

I think I have one - let me look when I get home from work. I'm pretty sure it's an NOS, used. PM me with your address.

You're welcome. Just tell Bob that Ralph sent you. Bring your wallet, he charges $1.50 for most tubes. You may have to look in the basement for that tube. They are starting to get popular.

He is open from Wednesday thru Saturday 11:30 to 5:30 I think.

Ron,

I was considering using the Russian 6N6C -- ~6V6GT tube equivalent in my builds. Has anyone tried a 6V6GT in one of the Fender or equivalent units?

I've got a bunch of used ones here in PDX if you can't get one from Bob at R5D3.

I have a 6K6GT labelled GE but it has the octagon symbol (made by RCA?). Date code 5-04. Smoky gray glass. I don't know if it is good or not. If you want it, let me know and give me your address. My wife would be happy to have one less tube in the house. Sounds like you might already have a line on some tested ones, though.

*drool*

So cool: electronics junk store. Awwww yeah. One of the few things I miss about the Bay Area. Weird Stuff Warehouse. Even Frys. All we have in my town of 100K people is frickin' Radio Shack.

I have used the Russian Reflektor 6P6S (or 6П6С) as a direct sub for 6V6GT. They are both tetrodes with exactly the same operating parameters. No problems there. And they are cheap.

Using a 6V6 will work fine, ever better in that unit.
