Some designs have the stand by switch on one 5V secondary, between the transformer and the filament, so that the rectifier tube does not glow when the stand by switch is off.
Others keep the rectifier glowing, but has the swtich between the filament and the first filter cap/choke.
What is the best way to do it?

Sheesh! All that time I thought I was doing my tubes a favor!

Ok, so before the filament is best...?

And it's not important which 5V secondary I place the standby switch on...?
Re: Where to put the stand by switch
why pin 8, and not 2? Just curious...

I've started putting my standby switches back in the parts draw!

I was going to suggest, the next amp you build. They make great power switches, don't theyshane wrote:I've started putting my standby switches back in the parts draw!
