Dabeck amps
Anyone know of or have any experience with these amps?
Re: Dabeck amps
Never heard of them but a quick search shows they are located at The Guitar Shop in Richardson, TX.

Re: Dabeck amps
Damn that is located really close to where I've worked the last two summers (right on 635/75). Too bad I never saw their store either time, I usually never headed north on 75 (starts to get into true yuppie territory!!). It would have been cool to drop by and talk amps and such, especially last summer when I brought 5 or 6 of my builds to a friends house where I was staying and never even got to turn on an amp the entire summer.

Dave Smith = Dabeck amps (wifes name is Becky). He worked for a number of companies (Motorola, etc) as electronics engineer/tech; can fix about anything. Dave is an outstanding guy; really nice to deal with.
I've got a Dabeck amp. Sounds GREAT. It's probaby the one pictured above. Amazing build; two complete foot-switchable preamps. EL-34 Marshall based, with shared power tubes/PI. Each row is completely independent TMB, Normal/Bright Pots, MV with associated dedicated 12AX7s. Only (but big) diff is bottom row is parallel gain stages and top is series. Completely stopped my Marshall GAS dead in it's tracks.
If you have a line on one, GET IT.
