I don't know if you noticed, but the thread from another board that you cited for certain changes to the KlonE schematic (which I went and read) has now been taken down! Is it possible someone did not want those changes "out" in the public domain?

I had asked you to re-document the changes here instead of just giving us the link, mostly just so it would be easy to find them all - and now that the link is gone I really want to know what they were once again.

A couple of resistor values changes, 1 cap, and different diodes. I am hoping maybe you can see this and find some notes of your own to tell us once again what those changes were. I was going to go to the thread today and document them myself, but now that is impossible.

I hope you see this and that it is not too much trouble. If it doesn't work out, thanks for trying anyway.

So, I am not sure, but I think you are saying the aforementioned changes are part of the silver pony layout. Is that right. That seems to "jive" with the preface here at my favorite site:

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/201 ... ition.html

Here they note a couple of swapped resistor values, as well as the Russian Ge Diodes.

Have any of you tried out a Red Llama? I'm REALLY digging it... Can't believe I waited so long to build one...

Anyway, I crammed a Snarkdoodle (madbean) into a 1590A sized Bud box. Made the board myself. Acid etched llama. Had to cut the ends of the board off to fit. Simple and sweet!

Hope this link works...

Dude, that is a VERY good looking pedal! Llama llama llama. I just love saying that.

I think you photoshopped one of your fingertips out. Ouch!

Edit: Or, maybe you ARE Jerry Garcia?

Thanks! And no, not Jerry at all... Lol! I lost the tip of my left ring finger when I was 19 working on a pickup truck. I kept playing. It was a bit too sensitive to fret with at first but now I use that finger as if it were another pinky finger. Most people never realize it unless someone points it out. I don't use that finger much when soloing, mainly just for chords.

As a result, I have a lot of strength in my pinky that makes up for the ring finger being so short.

Just noticed this tread here. I started building pedals a while back. I enjoy it immensely. My favorite part is painting the enclosures, but I REALLY want to try my hand at etching like that Tony.

Here's a few that I actually stopped to take photos of.

Simple overdrive pedal, My first attempt at PTP.

My favorite thing is doing the swirl paint jobs. Lots of fun.

GGG Centaur

Post by ampgeek »

Finished up a General Guitar Gadgets Klon Centaur this weekend.

VERY, very nice sounding pedal!!

I built this one as a 50th B-day gift for a close friend.

Bought two so the next one will be going on my pedal board!

Fairly straight forward build. It isn't true by-pass (buffer still in line when turned off) so there is a bit of a funky, off board resistor network that needs to be weaseled in. I wrapped it up in a sleeve of heat shrink but will probably do it differently in the next one.

Rock on,
Dave O.

Looks real nice Dave!

Did you use a waterslide for the top graphics?
Tom

Thanks Tom!

Yes. I am a long time Corel Draw user and buy the waterslide paper from Small Bear Electronics. Makes for a very painless approach for customizing gear.

I really do like the sound/feel of this pedal too. I can hear the Warren Haynes, brass knuckle tone lurking in the soundscape.

Now...if I could only get my fingers to comply equally as well!!

Cheers,
Dave O.

Hello All,

There are nice releases here also !

The HCTO.

Despite its name, this has nothing to do with the circuit of the commercial Hiwatt Custom Tube Overdrive. One single 12AX7WA on high plate voltage. works with an external 12VAC 1A ext. adaptor. You go from light overdrive-boost to Pete Townshend-like big crunch tone.
