5E3 first break-up

Has anyone seen on a scope which breaks up first in a 5E3, the driver before the cathodyne or the power tubes?

No, but my guess would be the power tubes, otherwise the amp would not be amp to achieve full clean rms output.

Power tubes. The cathodyne can swing more han 80 V, the 6V6s only need around 30 V + bias to reach full power.

The originals had such dinky OT's they probably break up a bit there too..
