single ended second harmonic

Post by funkmeblue »

if one was to plug a single ended amp (champ) into a dummy load, and then into a class A/B power amp. Would the second harmonic be cancelled out?

No. Push-pull only cancels even harmonics generated within itself. Provided the circuit is perfectly symmetrical. In real amps this cancellation is less than 100%.

Preamp gain stages are all SE class A. PP power amp doesn't cancel even harmonics generated in the preamp.
