P3 amplifiers?

Post by crbowman »

Friend of mine just sent me link. Was kind of embarrassed to say I'd never heard of 'em. They appear to have a pretty full line of products.
Looks like they're out of Nashville. Anybody know anything about them?

Never heard of them either. Sure are pricey for a 50 watt amp. $5,200....wow. They must have some of that high mojo red wire in them.

Not connecting from here but I wouldn't pay that much for my favorite vintage amp in mint condition, ever even close. Last time I bought an expensive amp I paid next to nothing, and the last time I sold a $6,500 50w Marshall I sold it for $2,500 because that is what they are really worth.

New amps don't stand a chance with anyone who isn't high. Marshall has a $3k+ combo out now that I probably wouldn't even work on if one showed up broken.

People are insane. The World has gone down the rabbit hole. More than a car is worth.. suck!

If you have a trophy wife you need a trophy amplifier to perform

Oops, allow me to restate something.

Aleksander, I'd pay more for one of your amps. I would pay more for one of Larry's amps, and I am more likely to overpay for an amp from any of my buddies here just to have one of their amps..

There, I feel more settled with that. :)

"Most companies would never produce an amplifier that will endure like a P3. We are excited about making products that will never be consigned to a landfill or be discarded."

I can dig that. However, there are others out there making amps that are equally as serviceable... maybe even more so, but we wouldn't know because there are no pictures of the insides or any descriptions about how they are built.

I like Swart for just that reason - full list of components, ground schemes, wiring info (point to point or not etc)

The stuff looks and sounds pretty good. Owning an amp company is expensive - building amps is expensive. I can relate to their high pricing. That said, I am really curious about what is in there - I thought my prices were insanely high because I only use Mercury/Allen Bradley/Jupiter parts but I got nothing on these folks! Better not be an orange drop or ceramic cap in there :D

I made that comment in an attempt at double pun using "perform" as sort of punch line. Hope it got through. I haven't heard or seen P3 amps in person but I like their approach to design.
When you decide to buy one of my amps I'll gladly let you pay what you just wrote above  and thanks for the compliment.

That was refreshing. Interesting design concepts.

I really like their panels and industrial design. Kind of Nordic, like IKEA might make. There is one photo of circuitry, but it looks sloppy.

Yeah, I dunno.........................
Checked out the clips and video.
I applaud the design concept, and the look is kind of new and different.
For the money I'm just not feeling it.

Pages load sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow and often return errors: "Error establishing a database connection". I still haven't been able to listen to any snippets ....... nor will I make further attempts.
