Is TDS still in business?

Post by Purpleharmonix »

I'm finally building a Dizzy 30 and it's time for trannies. I've seen a lot of good press on TDS so I decided to check into buying a set. Over the past month I've emailed three times, used their website contact form twice and called the phone number posted on their site. I even message the seller through EBay. Figured I'd post here thinking maybe some of you fine folks may be in the know.

I believe the owner's son has posted here before.

Not sure if the company is still around as their website is still under construction.

But perhaps they are on vacation right now or something.

contact West Labs he would know and he'll likely answer the phone if you prefer that to email. http://www.westlabs.com/Trannys.HTML

great trannies and the best way to go for a matchless build. please post back if TDS is no more as I'll stock up from West.

Will do. I had already looked at West Labs as they have some concrete info on their website and look more e-friendly with ordering as well. Just wanted to compare pricing with TDS but their website is devoid of anything more than general info. Thanks to all so far for the helpful replies. :D

The pricing will be the same, TDS was not cheap but the quality was very high.

That's what I suspected. Won't be long before they're needed. I put a little more work in tonight and I don't really have a lot left to hookup. I'm gonna try to post a pictorial build thread when done with some info about the items I had to spend a lot of time researching and figuring out. I love the ceriatone kit and have a pretty solid understanding of building but some things regarding layout are just hard to see without directions and a lot of practice. I've modded and repaired many but this is my first ground up build.

Yes I know. They've only had two items listed for a while. 15 watt stuff. Won't respond to buyer message through ebay either.

Thanks so much Tom. I had already clued in on that as I searched and read most every post he was involved in. He uses the same name in his email, ebay and youtube as well (he commented a video on youtube to confirm the authenticity of their Matchless connection). The only place I haven't tried to correspond with him is here as a pm since I just signed up today. Been a visitor here for ages, not sure why I never joined. I must say though you all have been very helpful. This is a great group.

I've bought some transformers from Bob at TDS, I agree they appear to be really high quality pieces. He was very good to work with. I'm guessing they might be out of town or otherwise engaged, give it some time. I actually have an inquiry in to them now as well, I'm sure I'll hear sooner or later.

And - I echo the great comments about the great folks on this forum, my thanks for the great info and contributions here! I learn something every time I tune in, and have had a lot of help from a lot of great folks here. Thanks!

I have the TDS transformers from Mr. Bob Wood in my Dizzy 30 build. I'm very happy with the quality.
