Good place to find Fender Amp clone plans/layouts/schematics

Post by joel_ostrom »

Just wondering if anybody knows a good site where I can find plans/layouts and schematics for early Fender amp clones with a list of materials?

I'm looking to possibly build myself a nice little gigging/jam night amp. Something like a bassman or a tweed that I can put into a little 1X12 cab

Thanks!

Check out this thread : http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... xe+richter

I thought Doveman got some nice tones out of that amp, and there is enough info there to recreate it.

http://ampwares.com/ probably has the most complete archive of vintage and modern fender amps around, not a bad place to start.

Good luck!

I've been to ampwares many times, great site. I'm just wondering if they have sufficient information available to make a decent clone of a Fender amp.

isn't there a site or forum (perhaps even within this forum somewhere) that has building layouts for simple plans for amps like a 5e3 or a 5c1? Where do most guys find this information? Do they just copy the designs of old Fender amps and go from there?

The Fender schematics and layouts are more than adequate to build a reproduction. For many of the more popular models there are chassis and eyelet boards available, as well as partial or complete kits. See for example Triode Electronics, Mojo Musical Supply, etc.

Here is a layout you can look at, along with the Fender layout and schematic, that should give you a lot of information. Just work through the layout and build up a BOM.

If you want a kit the Triode one may be OK for you.

This is the most inclusive collection of Fender schematics that I am aware of:

And there are 2500 schematics of different amps here:

Weber makes a lot of tweed and blackface kits too. So many choices.
