Impedance switch knob recommendations
I often use use those ~$10 three-way selector switches for impedance and have found that any standard knobs will almost always start slipping with heavy use. Anyone have any ideas for a knob with a heavy duty set screw?

Consider drilling or filing a notch in the shaft for the set screw to fit into.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

Yeah, even just a flat spot with a file, and it would take very little to make it impossible for the knob to slip barring the set screw coming loose.

I'm the only one who prefers to have dedicated outputs instead of the switch?

I can't say that I've had a problems with the knob slipping on my selectors but if I did I would note where the set screw markings are on the switch shaft and drill a divot in the shaft for the set screw to sit in so no more slipping.

I do that but more than once I have found users using multiple taps even with the warning not to!roberto wrote:I'm the only one who prefers to have dedicated outputs instead of the switch?

Worst episode ever:
an user of a rehersal room comes to me complaining of the clean channel of one of my amps. I ask him to show me his setup to solve the problem.
He connected the cab to the 8 Ohm tap (instead of 16) and the footswitch to the 4 ohm tap.
