BK Butler * Real Tube * Blue Tube * Tube Driver * Tube Works

Post by Toppscore »

I've been seeking an all tube amp head from:
1) * BK Butler
2) * Real Tube
3) * Blue Tube
4) * Tube Driver
5) * Tube Works

I tend to run into MosValve amps, solid state amps, and
solid state with a 12AX7 preamp driver from the above five.

I do know they're all one company with different product names,
all are discontinued and that Genz Benz currently has the names
and products

ANYBODY know if BK Butler/Tube Works made an all-tube
amp head during the 1980s/1990s with no solid state output?

Which amp head model? Even all-tube combo amps
or rackmounts would be good to know. Thank you.

Or, am I seeking something that does not exist?

BK Butler made TubeWorks here in Denver in the 80's I think.

I've owned several of his products, or knockoffs... Ibanez tubeKing comes to mind.

I think all the amplifiers were hybrids.

Good luck.

I got the schematic for the Real Tube RT-902 from Genz Benz. They own the Tube Works name now. (Edit; you already knew that.) One space rack unit with one 12AX7 (Branded "REAL" haha!) Cool little device!

I don't think I've ever seen a head by these providers of gear. But, there's lots I haven't seen... Mostly I've seen them as rack mount preamps, maybe a combo amp from Tube Works, and like you mentioned, the MosValve power amps.

Rack gear is fun though!

I have discovered that Tube Works make the ProValve series:

1) Tube Works ProValve 100 = 60w per channel, 2U rackmount
driven by two 6L6 tubes.

2) Tube Works ProValve 60-T = 60w amp head with spring reverb,
driven by two 6L6 tubes.

Learn something new everyday!

The ProValve 60-T seems perfect for what I am seeking.
Thanks again. Cheers!

I can't resist...why do you want an amp that you never heard or knew existed?

Vibra ~ what cannot you resist?
Why? Because I like the manufacturer.
Do you know ALL about every amp Fender ever made
during the past 66 years? Too many, right?
Just seeking. Found out about ProValve series.

What do you think about ProValve? I cannot resist your answer.

Also am searching Peavey and Lee Jackson 1980s/1990s amp heads as well.

Makes sense to me that BKB & TW would make a tube amp.
Half their amps have tubes. The ProValve series had 6L6 Power tubes.

BK Butler & Tube Works make tons of amps.
I don't know their entire line-up history ~ reason for the thread.

Searching the Internet for Tube Works or BK Butler Tube Amps
generates many results ~ but not exactly desired results.

Enough said.

Thanks, all. Sold!!!

I'm getting either a Peavey or Lee Jackson amp head.
Leave the BK Butler & Tube works for my effects only.
