Re: simple hi-fi phono amp
Decided to go with something pretty simple
Shannon Parks Budgie SE amp.
I got the pcb board. He has a ready made Mouser order that came in handy.
Taking longer and costing more than I wanted to spend.
Decided this will be a Xmas gift
still have a little to go

Take a look at the EAR 834p. There are lots of mods/info on this design. I made myself one a few years ago and have been pretty happy with it.
Re: simple hi-fi phono amp
Are op-amps the way to go for best sound compared to tubes cost and complexity wise?
Re: simple hi-fi phono amp
Cost and complexity, yes.
Tube junkie that aspires to become a tri-state bidirectional buss driver.
Re: simple hi-fi phono amp
If you have a 2 ch mic pre you can use that, and just build the riaa eq, or rin it to your ADC, and do the eq in software.
