Re: Pentode Bass control
I came across a Gibson GA-45 Maestro schematics (5879 preamp) and treble and bass controls were just before power amp. Very simple bass control, kind of same principle as the "dongbiter" but just in different position. Could work in tweed deluxes also (or basically in any amp without bass control) if too much bass is a problem.
Simplify before you amplify

Re: Pentode Bass control
check this out...
pentodes like to see a high impedance, the very simple and old fashioned volume and tone works best.
this thing is out of a Marshal JCM 800 bass rig, work pretty good after a simple volume and tone as a bass control.

Interesting, three cascaded low pass filters with the common point tied through a pot to ground. Any experience with it?Andy Le Blanc wrote:check this out...

Re: Pentode Bass control
works good... the caps create a a phase delay that cancels the bass
the pot to ground washes out the effect when its turned up.
its nice

How about an active bass control circuit with that pentode? RDH4 has a good example.
