Schematic.
In addition to my favorite programming language being solder, my favorite schematic program is pencil, with the edit function on the back end.

Also, not shown, but with 5879's, always ground pins 6 and 2!

Sorry all, the schematic has an error. The loop send is sourced from V2's cathode follower (the top of the 82k resistor, not the 1k5 on the first cathode. Sorry, hope this hasn't caused any bad experiments.

Yet more, and panels aside, I also haven't built the relay board.

I appreciate your sharing the pics and the schematic.

I am intrigued by how you have the FX loop installed especially the "send pot"? There is a significant difference in our respective schematics in this aspect. Not saying my approach is better at all, simply noting the difference.

Is it drawn correctly and if so, ............. how well does it work? What happens when you engage the 5879 OD stage to the FX loop tone?

Yes, the loop only gets the clean signal. The clean or distorted sound is mixed on the front panel with the balance control. In practice when using the hot channel, the clean send, especially with reverb or time modulation effects, makes the signal sound larger and fuller. The delay being cleaner keeps it less congested. With long single delays it might sound more noticeable I'm guessing, but I haven't tried that yet. My pedalboard has several distortion units i can use also in the loop, but i usually only use the Source Audio Multidistortion pro. I like the foldback presets. Wish I had an Echoplex! The only units I tried in the loop were the Big Tone Music Brewery chorus and the Wampler Dual distortion unit, the Tom Quayle model, as they were on the bench and I didn't have enough room to layout the pedalboard.
How do you record and send files to Soundcloud, if you don't mind. I need to get a handle on that. Thanks.

I mic my amp with a Shure 57 & run that into solid state preamp that runs into the computer thru a USB.

I use Mixcraft Acoustica to record and post on SoundClick instead of sound cloud. Simply put, you record it to your computer and then upload it following directions on the SoundClick website. I presume SoundCloud would be somewhat similar?

There is a free recording program called Audacity that you can use.

Having said that, I listened to some really great recordings that are reported to be done using iPhone and iPads.

You had me curious on this as the datasheet says no connection for pin 6 (&2), but at the end of the datasheet it does recommend 2&6 to ground.

Thanks for shedding the light. I've an almost completed HoSo56 to make a couple additions to.

Wow, the main board connections are passed under then soldered? Looks tidy. What are the two components at the far end of the chassis. They look like home made LDR's. Does your amp have vibrato? The lettering looks nice where the tubes are listed. Did you paint or decal those?
I hear you on the finding time to sling solder. This one was delayed for months by a couple of weddings, a knee operation, and having to finish up two oil painting commissions. I still have 12 amps in various stages of completion from design to 80 % complete. This one still needs the relay boards built.

The two heatshrinked parts at the far end are inductors, part of an RFI filter on the power line. Under them are two caps across the power line (rated for the application).

Lettering is waterslide decal that required touching up and no matter what i tried with the waterborne lacquer i was using, i couldn't get the edges to disappear so went with camouflage to blend it all together.

Just a plain preamp & power amp. It is power scaled and the preamp supply is regulated at a stable voltage.

Davent,

That is a very impressive and well done build! Will look forward to hearing your reviews of the tone.

I love 6AQ5's. Nice tube.
