Hey.
I just put down an order for a couple of scumbacks - M75 & J75.
The plan is to make a 2x12 for them, to use with my variety of amps (ax84 october, Rocket clone, Komet 60 clone, and Matchless lightning clone).
I saw a pic of a sort of half width 4x12 slanted cab, and liked that idea.
Anyone got any good plans for a cabinet that would let those speakers (and amps) sound their best??
Regards
Anders

I find EV cab plans interesting to study. Lots of timber and heavy as hell. Then there's the drivers.

I'd build the Dumble 2x12 oval backed semi open cab, unless you want that sealed cab sound
Search in the Dumble section for the plans.

This looks like a pretty coll design
Looks like CNC cut flatpacks are available at speakerhardware.com
I've been meaning to build one of these but haven't gotten around to it yet.Looks like CNC cut flatpacks are available at speakerhardware.com

Yeah, I also looked at that one.
Call me shallow, but I couldn't get past the cross-eyed look...

Re: Need plans for a 2x12 cabinet
Looks like you got some good suggestions.
A few thoughts:
I prefer using the Marshall-style handles to the Fender style. A 2x12 with those speakers won't be a lightweight.
I really like the way THD did their handle, and have shamelessly copied it on a bunch of cabs:
Mine (2x10 Tremolux clone cab in these pics, but the handle placement is just like the THD):
If you want the cab to be balanced when you carry it, just place a round rod/pvc pipe/broom handle under the cab (the long way), and gently roll the amp frontwards and backwards until it balances on the rod. Mark the spot (distance from front or back of cab), and mount the handle so the metal rod in the handle is right over the line where the balance occurred. Sounds silly, but it will keep the amp from swinging and bumping your leg when you carry it.
One last thing - put some thought into wiring and the jack(s) you put on the rear panel. If you're clever about it, you can make it so your cab works at several different impedances, and even allow for such things as pass-through or stereo operation.
Cheers!
