I have resolved the volume drop problem .... Why is it fixed?

Post by psychepool »

My DIY tube amp had a volume drop problem and asked a question.

Fortunately, the first thing I tried was working, so So I solved the problem very easily.
But I do not understand why these measures are solved.

This is my amp's schematic,
The red box part is a 'pushed' switch part. It is the configuration of the recto verb clean channel.
It seems to be the role of bypassing the signal by switching the filtering capacitor.
There is a tremendous gain increase as the tone thickens.
I applied this as a volume pot with a push-pull switch.

The volume drop problem was solved by removing this switch wiring.
With that part still in place, only the wiring connected to the switch was removed.

Do you think does it related to volume drop?
Why was the problem solved when I just removed the wiring with the parts left intact?
Is it solved by accidentally touching another part in the process of removing wiring?
When I reconnect the wires again, will the volume drop occur again? Or is there a solution?

Was this switch you used a double pole single throw type?

Draw us a picture of how you had it wired because you do not need a DPDT type!
