Well, I built it and it works! I ended up using a set of the winged C russian "6BM8" tubes and they sound good. Here are some pictures of the finished product:

The only issue I had was having to change the power tube cathode resistor from 300 to 470 ohms to get the bias down from an initial 140% to a more comfortable 95%. I haven't had a lot of time to play it yet, but the amp sounds good. It has a bit of hum with single coils at high volume, but I think I can get it down to reasonable levels with some chopsticking of the leads.

I too like your cabinet. Looking forward to any sound clips you may have. Where did you get those knobs?

Wow, that board looks like it's connected with firehose instead of wire! JK😁. The chassis looks great, and the cabinet is spectacular! That post deco look is awesome. Good job!

I found them on Amazon at some point when I was stocking up on parts for pedal builds. They were inexpensive and look nice, but they ended up being slightly too small for standard solid shaft pots and I had to drill them out a bit to get them to fit, which was a huge pain in the ass, but worked in the end.

I had a little more time to play the amp and I'm happy to report it is actually very quiet with humbuckers, so it seems it was more the guitar than the amp that was at noisy the first time I tired it out. I do have plans to record some sound clips, but I'm going to take some time to get to know the amp first and possibly give the speaker in that cab a chance to break in as well. I'll make sure to post them here once I get around to recording something.

I just realized I never got around to posting the sound clip I promised!

Here is my (very) rough demo... only 2 months late:

Warm & toasty. Even cleans stained a bit gritty. How's it sound with single-coils?
