So in the time since I posted this article I built a box with 8R 100w resistor and tried it out on my 1w amp and it certainly works.

I wired my volume control backwards so I do have to fix that.

Next to try this on a 50w head and see how it works and how warm it gets. Drill some top vent holes perhaps.

I could not find a 5uf/50v non-polarity cap so I used a 1uf/200v film cap.

Nifty!

Here's a way to use polarized caps:
- Take two polarized caps of twice the value needed (10uF in this case).
- Wire the (+) side of one cap to the (+) side of the other cap.
- Use the (-) terminals of the two caps as the non-polarized cap leads.
