Mark,

how are you rectifying the AC voltage for the B+ on your layout?

I was wondering about the (huge) power supply too. Is it a linear supply, or a switcher? It sure looks big enought to be linear...

Guy's if you check out those Hypex power supplies you'll see they're small. They're also ,along with their class D amp modules incredibly high quality, probably too high for a guitar amp, but my mastering engineer recently upgraded his amps that power the high end PMC's he has and used two mono Hypex amp kits he built. He's very picky about everything but the Hypex amps he says are amazing. Not cheap at over $1000 per channel but small efficient and most of all a great sound.

I built 2x Hypex mono blocks with NC400 modules and associated power supplies about 5 years ago. They are in my main Hi-Fi system. Haven’t missed a beat and sound truly “High End”. Great product designed by a digital genius!!

Thanks for the cool idea!

I think I’ll give it a go.

Cheers!

Still using the 25k pot?

Have you experienced loading and loss of high frequency below 7/8 travel?

Still using the 25k pot and no loss at all.

I run my home made tube preamp into the Class D power amp.
