$20 DSO oscilloscope

Post by xtian »

I decided to check out this $20 DSO, some assembly required:

https://www.banggood.com/Orignal-JYE-Te ... 93865.html

Instructions are very good--perfect English. Took about 90 minutes to solder the components. Add your own 10x probe, and you're good up to 500v. Not bad for $20!

Should run on a 9v battery for a few hours, though I haven't tried.

I just ordered one also. I assume all the SMD stuff is already on the board?

Ordered one too, this is perfect for the shop in lieu of pulling out the Tektronix for simple gain stage troubleshooting.

My unit doesn't go through the setup to calibrate acts as no triggering just waiting.

For an additional $10 you can get a completely assembled unit. Best $10 I NEVER spent!

I bet you just need to push buttons some more until you get used to it. I downloaded the user manual pdf and opened it up at a size I could easily read. Much better than trying to read that tiny pamphlet with a magnifying glass.

Whenever you see "waiting" the displayed signal level is below the trigger level threshold. Adjust the trigger level by moving the trigger cursor on the right side of the screen until it is below the peak of the square wave test signal (Press the "Trigger" button several times to activate the trigger cursor. Cursor will be blue when active). Then push the "OK" button twice to cycle through hold and running modes. "Waiting" should turn into "Triggered".

As I'm getting hooked on amp building, I'm currently thinking about buying some equipment and I am missing an oscilloscope so this is really tempting.

However, I haven't been using oscilloscopes since High School, so could-you please educate me about the required 10x probe - notably:

suit as such?

That probe is fine. Especially for a $20 scope. This DSO scope has... "Allowed maximum signal input voltage of 50Vpk (100Vpp)".

Banggood also has cheap probes...

And for an extra $10 you can get this little scope already assembled. Believe me, that's a bargain!

Oh yes! I already noted your suggestion, thanks, but please note that the assembled unit selling through Aliexpress are copies, not original units :?

Am I the only one being unable to buy from Banggood - add to cart doesn't work - with Firefox?

Edge works, but... :?

... & please, Sluckey, do you remember the link for the assembled unit?
