Help on Pot Wiring please

Post by DaveWell »

Hi !
I built a 5F6-A with only one input
But i put the input and build board from left to right ( like a Trainwreck) instead of right to left...according to layout.
Do I have to invert the Wire on pot ?
Exmp, Pin 1 to pot gonna go on pin 3, middle stay the same ???
I also switch the middle and Bass pot position

Simple but confuze me a little !

Thanks for Help !!

Dave

That's my side! Indeed wiring the pots requires something of a mental training, when you're doing things the opposite way as most do, and layouts read.
(unless you want your pots to act counter-clockwise ;-)

It always helps me to make a drawing like this.

Think about what the pot is doing as you turn the knob from 0 to 10 on the front panel. Use a DMM and get to understand which way the wiper is moving and which pins are which. If you're lucky, the schematic will show the pot pin numbers and a little arrow next to the letters cw, which show you which way the wiper moves on the schematic when turned clockwise.

I highly recommend using some other hosting besides photobucket, the limit views and now we can't see your image.

If you can't upload it here, try google photos or imgur.com.
