It's hard to say, my understanding is that once a tube has arc'ed it will be more prone to arcing since there's now a 'burned' spot on the surface where the arcing happened which closes the gap even more between the two points. It doesn't mean it's definitely dead, but they may have a significantly shorter life.

I'd love someone with more detailed knowledge of the tube failure state would chime in.

The oxide is carbonized and it's a great conductor. I have 3:1 failures with 6L6 over EL34 types from internal flashing and shorts. That is counting all failures over ten years or so.

I like storms, but lightning belongs outside.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.
