VCK Voltage Clamp Vox AC30CC2 with power scaling

Post by arsimoes »

I am using a power scaling (OT and Power) that I made myself for the VOX AC30CC2, but I noticed a voltage increase when working at minimum power.
Has anyone done a VCK Voltage Clamp for the AC30?

I am not sure that will work as intended with a Cathode biased amp?

The London Power team has these kits ready for the VOX AC30CC2, consisting of an SV2 + VCK + TREM.
I want to build mine, I have a project in mind, but I want to put the subject in the discussion.

I thought of building two voltage control sections, one for power / OT and another for Preamp / Phase Inverter / Tremolo, but with a single control, using a 1M double potentiometer. In the preamplifier / PI / TREM section, I will tune the range of voltage variation equivalent to the increase caused when the power / OT section is operating at reduced voltage.

Summarizing is a compensation circuit to correct for this voltage increase.

I believe that in this way there wont overflow input signal in the power power, which causes an overdrive that is pleasing to me, but I prefer to keep the AC30 clean. Consequently, it will also correct the problem caused by the tremolo that occurs by increasing voltage.
