Transformer ID and date needed

Post by BillyBob »

Hello,
I just picked up a Guild 98RT amp.
Pretty cool. It works but has a couple issues.
I don't regognize the transformer codes though.
Can anybody help me with the manufacturer
and date on these..?

See attached images.

I guess early 60's but that doesn't help make the numbers make more sense to me.

I assumed 929 was EIA mfr. code, but the dates, if WWYY format, look weird. The OT ends in 17 which is at least possible, if unlikely. The PT '3020' date doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway, took me a few tries to find a list with

929 Todd Electric

I found Todd Systems, that does make transformers.

Found the EIA code here

Any idea how old the amp might actually be?

The iron dates to the 20th week of 1960, but checking the dates out on the pots and can filter will many times narrow the build range down even more, as can dates on tubes if there GE brand!

Best guess is the manufacturer is Todd Electric Co. (926). #3 may be the plant code and probably manufactured in '59 & '60 respectively. the last 2 digits are the week of production
