HoSo56 EL84 & "minimalist" FX

Post by 10thTx »

Sometime back, I built the HoSo56 "the minimalist" that used 6BM8 tubes. https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... st#p386673

Someone on the Hoffman forum expressed an interest in an EL84 version of DaGeezer's HoSo56. (I don't particularly care for EL84 tubes.) IF I built this version, I'd probably be inclined to use a 300-0-300 PT and a 5Y3GT rectifier (maybe 330v on plates?) . OR a 250-0-250 PT and solid state rectification (maybe 300v on plates?) .

So, I drew this up. Haven't built this version. Thought I'd share the schematic and layout in case someone is interested. This approach using the tone stack off the cathode follower as the "send" for the FX has worked well for me on several amps.

CHECK for ERRORS! Compare schematic with layout. IF there is a discrepancy, go with the schematic. NOTE: there are editable SCH schematic and layout attached.

With respect, 10thtx
