Double check wiring please. PT swap

Post by caps8419 »

Good evening ampgarage. I'm swapping the stock power transfomer in JCM 2k DSL 100 for the replacement Classic Tone model. I just wanted to run this by folks to double check I'll have this wired correctly. I believe I do but would rather double check and avoid a small fire ;). I wrote the wire color of the new PT on the DSL schematic. If this should be in the Marshall forum please let me know, I'll move it.

Thanks!

Click this sideways one for portrait version. Not sure why it turned it...

If you're wanting it wired for 120V input, you've got it right. And, of course, the W4-W5 jumper is not used.

I think that the dotted lines for 117V are ambiguous. Hookup the two secondary windings so they are parallel. Pay attention to phase orientation, which those dotted lines indicate. I'm pretty sure, if you wire out of phase, you get 0V :!:

right, you could reverse the paired striped wires and paired solid wires to to board as long as they stay paired correctly ( in phase as you said). Thanks guys, I appreciate the extra set of eyes.
