Vht ultra preamp stage into 5e3 power section

Hello gang..i have built a fender vibro champ running a 6l6GB per a schematic and tweaked the bias for the 6l6 and it works pretty darn good breaks up dimed,but now my project at hand is an ultra i picked up that didn't work so i pulled the watts control so i had room for a master volume. it's running and both power tubes are producing sound and the boost even works i can hear it breaking up but volume is a wisper dimed.first time combining stages and i left everything at last output stage per the vht schematic the same to pin 2 of the PI so at that point it's a 5e3,no master volume installed yet i was gonna insert that in between the PI and last preamp stage from the vht and I'm thinking the last stage out to the PI needs a little tweaking.all the parts for the 5e3 circuit came from a thomas organ pushing 2x6v6.still in the learning process so go easy on me..lol
