Picked up a projector (Kodak) cheap, thinking to make a small guitar amp out of it. Schematic was stapled inside and has a couple curious things. There is an ECC-83 and a 12AX7 in the preamp. Why would they designate those differently? Weren't they identical from their inception? Looks like DC on the ECC-83 heater. The OT secondary looks to have a winding dedicated for NFB? Was that to try to mute the PI if the speaker was left unplugged? Bright orange selenium rectifiers for the voltage doubler fed straight off the line. They did have the forethought to use a grounded power plug and a fuse. A thermistor R26, is that to dampen the starting of the heaters? A fairly compact chassis looks to be rated about 8 watts. Could be a fun little project, gotta find an isolation xfmr first.
Yet another 16mm amp.
