question about using FX in D-style active loop

Post by Luthierwnc »

Hi all, Over the years I've built Dumbleator-style active loops into several amps, mostly for the added gain structure. For reasons I can't explain, I'm redoing my pedalboard with plans to put the time-based FX in the loop.

Everything I've read discusses a basic send/return jack loop. I haven't found much on using ordinary stomp-boxes in an active loop -- relative to the higher input signals. Back when I got a Neunaber Wet for my Second-gen clone that can adjust to the insertion levels but I can't find anything else on other devices. Is there a handy guide for using loops that have their own low-impedance buffer driving the loop?

Thanks, Skip
