I have recently done some experiments based on experience with vintage passive mastering eqs. The idea is two frequencies and the program is brought forward by boosting just inside the pass-band.
It's black magic. You should try it on anything gainy enough to sizzle and squat with a little signal to burn. Smooth and tight with good note definition due to bright cap and peakers. Sort of monsterous. Refined.
