1968 Super Reverb bias supply question

Post by hebaton »

HI, GOt a 68 SUper Reverb with a tubechar that said AB763 but circuit is actually AB568.
Had the bias supply converted to match AB763 spec ( and Cathode bias removed ) except THe tech left the 70@80 cap there when the AB763 calls for a 25@50
WHat impact , if any can this have ?

No problem. The only main difference will be that the bigger UF filter will take a few microseconds longer to charge up.

Also if the amp is played loud enough to start to sag the power supply voltage then the bigger UF filter will keep the bias voltage more stable.

No.
The bias supply is not powering the tubes.
