ECG160 Transistor for rangemaster

Post by audiosalvage »

Hello, I've just built a rangemaster circuit using a ECG160/RCA SK3008/Motorola HEP637. The unit works but I'm not sure if it needs tweaking to optimize it. Here is the spec sheet for mine, how close is this to the OC44? Thanks

Your giving us no info to work with here!

Can you post the voltages your getting and a schematic of the rangemaster circuit please?

Pretty close, except ECG160 is much faster at 800 MHz vs. 15 MHz for OC44. Have you tested it for hfe and leakage?

I have attached a schematic and I get ranges of B to Gnd 3.43-3.66 E to Gnd 0-2.42 C to Gnd 3.59-3.91 when turning the 5k pot. hFe is hard to pin down, all over the place on my meter.
