I have been given a Knight 600 tester. I REALLY appreciate being given it, but I haven’t yet found it to be a meaningful tester, it is early days using it, but I thought I would put the question to the brains trust here and see if there are tips or tricks surrounding using the tester.

These simple testers only test the emission level of the tubes cathode, so as such they are fine for testing out rectifier tubes but will not tell you how well a audio tube will amplify signal level.
Like testing a rectifier tube these testers in terms a audio tube will tell you only how much life is left in a tube and if it has any shorts.
These type of testers can not even tell you if a tube is gassy which will ultimately shorten its life.

I have using it for a couple of days and I have yet to see a bad valve. I was wondering what is going on.
